About the artist:

Amitesh Grover is a theatre director, multimedia artist and pedagogue. Born 1980, he has created 18 Performances and Mixed-Media Installations, which have taken a total of 75 shows. His interventions range from multimedia creativity (fluxing live with recorded arts), site-specific work and installations, striking artistic collaborations across cultures to evolving pedagogy for Advanced Performance. His practice has focused on the phenomenon of 'mediatization' and how it has affected Language, Memory and Identity in urban India today. His work has been shown in Switzerland, U.K., Romania, Oman, and India.

His recent works include Lady Macbeth Revisited (multimedia performance), H.O.M.E. (interactive multimedia installation), I Hate My Body (video/object installation & live), Hand Over Fist (mixed media cabaret) and Memorable Equinox (on-site, digital & live). Falk Richter's Electronic City, designed and directed by him was invited to 10th International Theatre Festival, India held in January 2008.

A National School of Drama, India alumnus, he completed his MA (Performance Arts) from University of Arts London, UK in 2006. He is the recipient of SNA Bismillah Khan Award for Best Director (2009), was awarded Swiss Arts Council Grant for Artist Residency in Switzerland (2008) and received Charles Wallace Scholarship Award (2005). He has also been on the jury of TheatreSpektakel'08. At present, he lectures in Modernism and The Visual Culture at National School of Drama, India and is a freelance artist. He also contributes to contemporary theatre discourse through workshops, talks and articles.
