About the artist:

• 2010: Artist in Residence, Rote Fabrik, Zürich
• 2009: Mar. Quit her work in Japan to concentrate on Tim & Puma Mimi activities.
• 2007: May. Start to perform Skype concerts to deal with Swiss-Japanese long distance problems.
• 2005: Feb. Back to Japan and start to work.
• 2004: Dec. Meet Christian Fischer in the Netherlands and form Tim & Puma Mimi.
• 2000-04: Study Museology in the Netherlands.
• 1999: Study English in England.
• 1998-99: Sing in the pop punk band Gum Drops, Tokyo.
• 1995-99: Study Architecture in Chiba, Japan.

AiR-Project:

Michiko Hanawa is known as Puma Mimi from the Swiss-Japanese electro pop duo Tim & Puma Mimi. Puma Mimi living in Japan and Tim (aka. Christian Fischer) living in Switzerland, the band successfully maintains long distance musical activities for years by using holidays and performing Skype concerts. Today, Tim & Puma Mimi receive more and more concert requests. Range of their musical activities expanded than ever. So Tim and Puma Mimi need more time together to work.

Here comes Puma Mimi in Zürich! At Röte Fabrik, together with Tim, Puma Mimi will work on recording new songs and creating art works for a new album, and appear in "real" on stages all around Switzerland.

Meanwhile, Puma Mimi learns (Swiss) German. She writes down German words on things around in her atelier, e.g. "der Boden" on the floor, "der Tisch" on the table. In the end, she plans to write her first German language song inspired by words around her.
