Open Screen
Every spring and fall the Rote Fabrik presents the Open Screen (Offene Leinwand), a platform for aficionados of exceptional cinematic small productions.
It is not only the free admission that entices a loyal audience to attend twice a year. Regardless of the medium (all the usual film and video formats can be projected), or the genre - experimental film, fan film, animated film, splatter film, or home movie - Offene Leinwand displays productions that are characterized by the passion for filming, the disregard of commercial success, and the simplicity of technical means.
The basic idea is to offer up-and-coming film directors a forum that goes beyond a living-room screening for friends.
