Platform and Workshop
Urban Lab (stadt.labor) is a public platform where topics relating to urban development are critically analyzed and discussed. stadt.labor specifically concentrates on the perspective of the population groups affected by various forms of urban development.
The idea for stadt.labor arose while assessing the urban political event series «Città Chiusa - who can still afford Zurich?» at the Rote Fabrik. Our goal was and still is to bring up topics and issues in a politically serious and yet entertaining and provocative manner.
We strive to enhance the awareness of current processes in urban development and of possible alternatives to it. At the same time, we strive to foster the ability to participate in the political process.
With films, panel discussions, action happenings, city walks and other cultural forms, we attempt to grasp the issues of global-local urban development not only intellectually, but as a physical experience as well.
